Set One: Pictures 1 Through 10
I took these photos soon after arriving. Pictures 2 to 5 show, from left to right, the UAL Flight 93 Temporary Memorial, some of the media horde, and a very large crane (only in Picture 5). Picture 6 is the first picture I took of the actual crash site: it is surrounded by a fence and covered with a tent.
Set Two: Pictures 11 Through 49
I took these photos walking towards, at, and walking back from the famous UAL Flight 93 Temporary Memorial. Many of the pictures show the general area; 12 and 13 show the relatively wild terrain immediately below the Temporary Memorial; 41 and 42 show the 40 Angels and Todd Beamers Angel; in 45 and 48, the actual crash site is the tent-covered area in the distance, towards the right, at the base of the tree line; 47 shows some of the media horde, directly across the road from the Temporary Memorial; 49 is of the actual crash site, with mounted Pennsylvania State Police guard. (Set Four has more pictures of the Temporary Memorial, when the crowd had gone.)
Set Three: Pictures 50 Through 70
I took these photos shortly before, during, and shortly after the memorial ceremony itself. Most of them are what could be called The Crowds Eye View. Picture 52 is of Michael Reagan, President Ronald Reagans son; 56 and 63 are of airplanes in the flyovers; 54 is some of the media horde; 57 through 59 were taken during the tolling of the bell 40 times, once for each passenger or crew member; 60 and 61 are, respectively, Governor Mark Schweiker of Pennsylvania, and Governor Tom Ridge, federal Homeland Security director; 64 and 66 are of the flock of 40 doves released in honor of the 40 fallen heroes; 67 is the retiring of the colors; 69 and 70 show the crowd sending off the relatives of the deceased.
Set Four: Pictures 71 Through 88
I took these pictures after the service, at the Temporary Memorial when the crowd had taken leave. Picture 72 is of Alice Hoglan whose son Mark Bingham was killed in the crash, standing before the 40 Angels; 82, 85, and 87 all show the actual crash site, the tent in the distance on the tree line. (Set Two has more pictures of the Temporary Memorial, when the crowd was still there.)
Please note these images are completely unedited. They are the pictures as I took them: they went straight from the CD to the hard drive to the web server.
